Project Description

Aldea

The inherent beauty of the Iberian Coast comes to life in this elegant restaurant.

Opened in May 2009 in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood, Chef George Mendes named the restaurant after the Spanish word for village. The restaurant décor was inspired by the natural beauty of the Iberian Coast, and images of water, air, wind, clouds, sky, earth, stone and wood surround you in this dramatic and memorable space.

With a menu inspired by the Iberian Peninsula and a Mendesa heritage, the chef adds a modern, seasonal approach to the creation of dishes perfectly balanced between rusticity and refinement.
